Title: Geophysical Applications and Project Examples"

Synopsis: Dr. Shalek will discuss some key geophysical methods that include Seismic, Ground Penetrating Radar, and Electrical Resistivity. The project examples will touch on site characterization, buried object locating, marine surveying, and deep foundation testing.

PRESENTER: Kyle Shalek, PhD, Senior Staff Geologist - Geophysical Services, Terracon

BIOGRAPHY:Dr. Shalek provides numerous geophysical services from Terracon's Cincinnati, Ohio office.  Dr. Shalek's primary focus is the application of a broad range of geophysical methods to engineering, environmental, and construction projects. Methods include Seismic Refraction, Surface Resistivity (4-pin and Resistivity Imaging), Electromagnetic Induction, and Ground Penetrating Radar (GPR). Kyle also conducts deep foundation testing (Cross-Hole Sonic Logging and Pile Integrity Testing) and marine services, including Side Scan Sonar and Sub-Bottom Profiler surveys.  He has worked on numerous geophysical projects across the nation.
