Title: “From Soil Profiles to Recommendations: Foundations, Floor Slabs, and Pavements.”

Abstract: Geotechnical engineering has been considered a “black box” to many in the A/E/C industry.  This presentation sheds some light on the geotechnical evaluation process from the proposal stage to the interpretation of boring logs for foundation, floor slab, and pavement design and construction.  It reviews important information for the geotechnical engineer to know, including information that the project team can specifically provide. Finally, examples of log interpretation and recommendations will be done in real time to demystify the process
